DANVILLE, KY—Centre student-athletes will report for fall practice on Sunday, Aug. 18. Coaches expect 209 players to arrive.
The College has seven fall sports. Men's cross-country has 15 athletes reporting, women's cross-country 10, field hockey 17, football 86, men's soccer 36, women's soccer 25 and volleyball 20.
Each of Centre's seven fall sports teams finished with winning records in 2001. The fall sports teams (not including cross country) won 61 of 98 games, with 32 losses and five ties.
The first home match for each fall sport team is as follows: Men's/women's cross country—Sept. 14 (Centre Invitational); Field hockey—Sept. 4 (Transylvania, 4 p.m.); Football—Sept. 7 (Kenyon, 1:30 p.m.); Men's soccer—Sept. 7 (Bob Allen Classic); Women's soccer—Aug. 31 (Wilmington, 1 p.m.); Volleyball—Sept. 14 (Hollins, 11:30 a.m. and Averett, 2:30 p.m.).
The first day of classes at Centre will be Sept. 2.
