New Web feature takes fun look at what's happening with alumni

RELEASED: Sept. 12, 2002

DANVILLE, KY—What Centre graduate moved to L.A., loves to visit Las Vegas and is interested in either being an entertainment lawyer or a professional shopper? Where can you find ideas for great dates in Louisville? Where can you vote on the best place to live on Centre's campus?

These answers and many more can be found on The Flame Run, a new section to the Centre Web site http://flamerun.centre.edu/index.html.

The Flame Run went online last month and has generated a good response from alumni, said Adam Johnson, assistant director of annual giving at Centre.

"We wanted something to keep our alumni base more involved and updated," he said. "The Web was the perfect forum for us and Vickie Glidewell (assistant to the director of annual giving) and I took on the editors' roles. It's a great creative outlet for our alumni and helps keep everyone informed with the latest Centre and classmate news.

"We all love the different pieces our alumni have sent in to the site. They do a great job of letting everyone know what they have been up to while being pretty funny, too."

Johnson says involvement is key to the site. Anyone who has story submissions, photographs or ideas for the Web site should e-mail them to flamerun@centre.edu
