| Mooney, Green hoops players of the week in SCAC

DANVILLE, KY-Centre had a clean sweep of Player of the Week honors in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
Seniors Matt Mooney and Sarah Green were named the men's and women's players of the week based on their performances against DePauw and Rose-Hulman.
Mooney had a record- breaking weekend for the Colonels hitting 14 three- pointers in the two games to finish his career with 95 treys. This surpassed the SCAC single-season mark of 89 set by Centre graduate David DeMarcus in 1993. Mooney canned 17 of 28 shots from the floor including an amazing 14 of 22 three-pointers (63.6 percent). His 52 points on the weekend boosted his career scoring to 1,002 points, becoming the 34th player in SCAC history to hit that milestone. Mooney finished the season as the conference's fifth leading scorer averaging 16.5 points per game. Centre finished the season with a 16-9 (10-8 in the SCAC) record, good enough for fifth place in the league.
Green was also outstanding in leading the Lady Colonels to a second-place finish in the SCAC with a 14-4 record (17-8 overall). For the second straight year Green led the team in scoring and rebounding. Green finished her career with a bang, collecting 44 points (17 of 33 from the floor) and a whopping 30 rebounds for the weekend. It was her eighth and ninth double- doubles of the season. In the two games Green shot 51.5 percent from the floor and 83.3 percent from the free-throw line (10 of 12). Green finished her career as the fourth all-time leading scorer for the Lady Colonels with 1,252 points. For the season, Green averaged 14.5 points per game (sixth in SCAC) and 8.8 rebounds per game (third in SCAC).
