Field hockey team places record eight
players on National Academic Squad

RELEASED: March 28, 2002

DANVILLE, KY-Centre College's field hockey team placed eight players on the National Academic Squad announced by the National Field Hockey Association. That's a Centre record for most players named to the team in a season.

Lauren Crosby, Meagan Hagg, Lindsey Habeeb, Annie Murphy, Morgan Tunnell, Anne Nesmith, Lauren Nicholson and Ashley Vinsel were named to the squad.

To be a member of the academic team, student-athletes must have a 3.3 cumulative grade-point average and start for their team.

Centre finished the season with a 10-6 record and is coached by Jean Kiernan.
