Centre College names new member to alumni staff

RELEASED: June 27, 2002

DANVILLE, KY-Jamey Elliott has been named as the new associate director of alumni at Centre. Elliott, a 1996 graduate of the College, replaces Jennifer Howard, who leaves Centre to attend law school.

Elliott has served Centre as assistant director of admission since January 2001. Prior to that, he was an admissions counselor for the school.

He will be in charge of planning homecoming, all alumni events and alumni travel. He will also work with the alumni association board of directors.

"I accepted this position hoping that I could help contribute to the tradition of alumni involvement at Centre," he said. "I'm excited about the opportunity to work with our alumni to help the College maintain and build on the momentum it's established."

Shawn Lyons, associate vice president for development and alumni affairs, said he looks forward to working with Elliott.

"We're delighted that Jamey will be joining our team at the Alumni House," he said. "He's played an important role in the College's successful admission efforts, and we look forward to his leadership with our alumni programs."

Elliott, a graduate of Henry Clay High School in Lexington, previously worked at Washington University in St. Louis as an assistant director of the alumni and parents admission program.
