Freshmen appear in Little Women

RELEASED: Dec. 17. 2002

DANVILLE, KY—A pair of Centre students have brought some holiday cheer to the area through their work on stage.

Freshmen Christopher Green and Tasha Pedigo were recently part of the production of Little Women at the West T. Hill Community Theatre in Danville.

The students appeared in six productions of the play Dec. 5-14.

Pedigo, of Smiths Grove, Ky., played Young Jo, one of the sisters in Little Women, the Louisa May Alcott novel set in the mid-1800s.

Little Women is about the March family. Father March has left the house to fight in the Civil War, while Mother March ("Marmee") is left to raise their four girls.

Green, of Park Hills, Ohio, played Laurie "Teddy" Lawrence, a neighor who lives beside the four girls. Green and Pedigo, who are friends at Centre, also played close friends in the play.

Pedigo, who has always been a big fan of the book, said the play was special because of the many positive messages it conveyed.

"It teaches one about trust and also about the importance of family," she said.
