| Graduate touts Centre's glass-blowing program in national publication
RELEASED: June 6, 2002
White explains the glass-blowing process and why he took that career route. "I took a class at Centre College and fell in love with it," White said. "I was going to be a lawyer. I went to law school for six weeks. That was long enough." White graduated from Centre with a bachelor of arts degree in government. He then attended the University of Kentucky College of Law. After leaving, he was a graduate fellow in art at Centre before becoming the resident glass artist at Glassworks. White studied under internationally known artist Stephen Rolfe Powell, professor of art at Centre. White's work has been shown at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., and at other galleries across the nation. Glassworks is located at 815 West Market Street in Louisville. The festival, in its 13th year, will be held in Danville and on Centre's campus June 14-16. - end - Communications Office Centre College 600 W.
