Admission Office to host two fall open houses

RELEASED: Sept. 26, 2002

DANVILLE, KY—Centre College will enable prospective students to learn more about the college with two fall admission open houses.

The events will take place Saturday, Oct. 5, and Saturday, Nov. 9.

The open houses are specially planned days for high school seniors and their families to visit the College's campus. Open house activities include tours, student panels, financial aid discussions and opportunities to meet with Centre students, faculty and staff.

"These dates will give seniors an opportunity to become better acquainted with Centre and see first-hand the educational possibilities that are here for them," said J. Carey Thompson, dean of admission and student financial planning. "We're always excited to host the seniors each fall."

For more information on the open houses or about Centre, call the Admission Office at (800) 423-6236 or e-mail admission@centre.edu. You can also visit http://www.centre.edu/web/prospective.html.

Founded in 1819, Centre is ranked by U.S. News and World Report among the country's top 50 national liberal arts colleges and is Kentucky's highest ranked institution. In the most recent National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) Centre received the top score in the category of "supportive campus environment for first-year students at a liberal arts institution." Centre also ranked in the 90th percentile nationally in five benchmark categories of effective educational practices for first-year students.
