| Kyle Poland qualifies for National Triathlon Team

DANVILLE, KY-Centre College senior Kyle Poland has qualified for the United States Amateur National Team in the triathlon. Poland will be one of 14 qualifiers in the 20-to-24 age group who will compete against other nations in Cancun, Mexico in November.
Top American finishers will be invited to the Olympic Training Center to compete in the 2004 summer Olympic Games to be held in Athens, Greece.
Poland has excelled in cross-country and swimming while at Centre, making first-team all conference in both. He is currently on the track team and hopes to make all conference in all three sports.
"In the triathlon I'm the weakest in track, so I'm working hard to get better," he said. "My strongest area is swimming. I've got my heart into triathlon competition, and I'm going to give it my all these next few months."
