Centre celebrates women’s history month with noted author/artist SARK

DANVILLE, KY-Centre College will host a lecture by acclaimed author, artist, and inspirational speaker SARK (Susan Ariel Rainbow Kennedy). The free public lecture will take place on March 13 at 7:30 p.m. in Weisiger Theatre on Centre's campus. The lecture is titled, "SARK: On Living an Original Life."

SARK is the author of 11 books, including the bestsellers "Succulent Wild Woman" and "Transformation Soup." There are more than two million SARK books in print. Her new book, "Prosperity Pie: How to Relax About Money and Everything Else" will be released in April 2002, and her 12th book will be released in spring 2003.

Described by "Publishers Weekly" as "a peerless author," SARK has been referred to as the "wake-up fairy" of creativity. Her wise and witty words and views on living a creative, passionate life have inspired many. Since 1992, she has spoken to various groups across the country ranging from corporations to spiritual gatherings.

SARK was featured in the PBS series, "Women of Wisdom and Power" as well as a documentary film titled, "The World According to SARK." She is a periodic guest on National Public Radio and on her own "Inspiration Line."

SARK's company, Camp SARK, has produced more than 200 products to inspire creative living, such as cards, posters, and calendars. Camp SARK has also distributed "Creative Tool Kits" to teachers across the country.

SARK was born in Minneapolis. She studied at the Minneapolis Art Institute, the University of Tampa and the University of Minnesota before graduating from the School of Communication Arts in radio/TV production.

SARK is a self-described "recovering procrastinator/perfectionist who practices what she teaches," and she lives in San Francisco with her "fur husband" cat, Jupiter.
