DANVILLE, KY—Mike Weckenbrock of Centre has been named men's soccer Player of the Week in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference for the second time this season.
Weckenbrock, a junior forward from Covington, Ky., was instrumental in both of Centre's wins last week. Against Hendrix College, Weckenbrock assisted on the first goal and scored the second in the Colonels' 3-0 win. Against Rhodes College he scored in the 87th minute to give the Colonels a 1-0 victory.
Weckenbrock has seven goals and eight assists on the season for 22 points—good for second in the conference. With the two wins, the Colonels jumped from 22nd to 13th in the week's national rankings.
Centre is 10-1 overall and 5-1 in the SCAC. Centre will entertain MacMurray College on Saturday at 1 p.m.
