DANVILLE, KY—Centre College senior Anne Ledford experienced the positive effects of a vice presidential debate and what it meant for students, the community and Kentucky when Dick Cheney and Joe Lieberman came to campus in October of 2000.
In an op-ed in Sunday's Lexington Herald-Leader she said Centre is ready to step up and accept the challenge of hosting a presidential debate.

Centre is one of 14 sites in the running to host a General Election debate in 2004. In 2000, Centre hosted the only debate between Cheney and Lieberman.
The Commission on Presidential Debates will announce the final debate sites in November.
