DANVILLE, KY—High school seniors seeking admission to Centre this fall have one more month to apply. Applications for the class of 2008 should be postmarked before Feb. 1, 2004.
Students can complete the two-part paper application and submit by mail, or can apply online with no fee by visiting http://www.centre.edu/web/admission/howtoapply.html. Those applying by Feb. 1 will receive notification of their acceptance to the College by March 15, 2004.
This year Centre expects to receive nearly 1,500 applications for a freshman class of approximately 300 students.
Centre is also hosting Junior Day on Feb. 14, 2004 from noon-4 p.m. for high school juniors interested in attending the College. Sessions about Centre, the college search process, a liberal arts education and financial aid are available for juniors and their parents. Students and their families will also have an opportunity to tour campus. For more information on Junior Day, call (800) 423-6236 or email admission@centre.edu. "We moved our first junior open house to February for the first time this year because it's a very good program for students who are just beginning their college search," said Bob Nesmith, associate director of admission at Centre. "The sessions are not merely Centre specific, but address broader issues of choosing and applying to colleges."
