Important Update: Applications possibly
destroyed in postal truck accident

RELEASED: Dec. 1, 2003

DANVILLE, KY—News reports indicate that a U.S. Postal Service truck traveling from Louisville to Lexington was destroyed by fire on Monday, Dec. 1, along with all its contents. Students in Louisville, Western Kentucky and points west and northwest who mailed college application materials during the last week in November may have lost important application documents as a result.

Centre College is processing all application materials as quickly as possible and will acknowledge receipt of all required items within the next week. If prospective students have not received an acknowledgment letter from Centre by Dec. 8 for a document you mailed to the College between Nov. 26-Nov. 29, please e-mail goodlett@centre.edu or call the Admission Office at (800) 423-6236 and ask for Susan Goodlett.

In addition, gifts or other information mailed to the College by alumni and friends may have been destroyed in the accident. Alumni and friends from the area referenced above who sent mail to the College between Nov. 26-29 should contact Jamey Elliott at (859) 238-5517 or e-mail him at elliott@centre.edu.
