DANVILLE, KY—Centre will soon be bustling with activity as 230 student-athletes return to campus this weekend to start fall practice.
Football will have 91 players returning on Saturday, Aug. 16. The rest of the fall athletes return on Sunday, Aug. 17. In addition to the football players, coaches expect 13 volleyball players, 29 cross-country runners, 49 for men's soccer, 28 for women's soccer, and 20 for field hockey.
Several members of Centre's fall sports teams were honored by the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference last year.
If you want to catch the fall sports teams in action, the first home match for each team is as follows: men's soccer—Sept. 6 (Bob Allen Classic, vs. Illinois College, 3 p.m.); women's soccer—Aug. 30 (Hanover, 3 p.m.); cross country—Sept. 13 (Centre Invitational); volleyball—Sept. 13 (Roanoke, noon); field hockey—Sept. 6 (Wooster, 1 p.m.); and football—Sept. 13 (Franklin & Marshall, 1:30 p.m.).
Classes at Centre begin Sept. 8.
