Barlow named SCAC Player of the Week

DANVILLE, KYAmy Barlow, a 5-foot-5 junior guard from Liberty, Ky., has been selected the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference women's basketball Player of the Week for games played Jan. 6-12.
Barlow scored 34 points with 10 assists, eight rebounds, and four steals in Centre's two conference wins over Hendrix and Rhodes.
In the Colonels' 77-70 overtime thriller against Rhodes, Barlow had a game-high 26 points, despite foul trouble. Barlow hit seven of 11 shots from the floor and 12 of 13 attempts from the foul line. She also had three rebounds, three assists and one steal.
For the season, Barlow leads the SCAC in assists, averaging 5.29 per game, and is also ninth in the league in scoring at 13.1 points per game. She's the only player in the conference in the top 10 in both categories. In addition, Barlow is fourth in free-throw percentage (82.5 percent), third in three-point field-goal percentage (40.4), and tied for fifth in three-point field goals made per game (1.64).
Centre (8-8, 4-1 SCAC) is in a first-place tie for the conference lead. The Colonels travel to Rose-Hulman Friday.
