The College Centre takes place

RELEASED: April 10, 2003

DANVILLE, KY—A groundbreaking ceremony for The College Centre—a $22 million construction and renovation project—took place April 11. When completed, The College Centre will expand, enhance, and unite Crounse Academic Center and Sutcliffe Hall to create a state-of-the-art academic and athletic/recreation complex.

Nearly 200 people attended the event in front of Crounse Academic Center.

Centre President John Roush, board of trustee members, faculty, staff, students and representatives from Hastings and Chivetta Architects took part in the ceremony.

Work will begin on The College Centre immediately. The projected completion date is spring 2005.

"The College Centre project will enable us to continue to offer an exceptional educational experience that seeks to develop the whole person," Roush said. "With these improvements to our campus, students will be further enhanced intellectually, socially, spiritually and physically. Lives will be changed for the better for years to come with this bold plan."
