Pick your sport: Centre hosts summer camps

DANVILLE, KY—Several Centre College coaches will lead sports camps this summer. Boys and girls basketball, boys and girls soccer, softball, and volleyball will be offered.

The boy's basketball camp will be held June 16-20 and is led by Centre head men's coach Greg Mason. The morning session will be for ages 6-10, while the afternoon session is for those 11 and older. The camp emphasizes winning basketball skills in a fun environment. For more information, contact Chris Armstrong, co-camp director, at (859) 238-5491.

The girl's basketball camp, led by Centre head women's coach Jennifer Ruff, will be June 9-13. The morning session will be for ages 6-9, and the afternoon session for ages 10-18. Specialized on-court instruction from the Centre College women's coaching staff and players is designed to enhance the development of fundamental skills for players at all levels. The 14th annual boy's soccer camp will be held July 6-11. It's directed by Centre men's head coach Jeb Burch. The goal of the camp is to have players and teams develop and hone soccer skills while enjoying the experience. The camp is for ages 10-18. For more information, contact Burch at (859) 238-5253.

The girl's soccer camp will be held June 29-July 4. It’s led by Centre head women's coach Gina Nicoletti. The camp is for ages 10-18 and will be divided into junior and senior divisions, depending on skill level. Nicoletti can be reached at (859) 238-5493 for more camp information.

The Centre College youth softball clinic will be held June 7 from 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at Millennium Park in Danville. Centre head coach Wendie Austin will serve as director. A variety of skills will be worked on that day. For more information, contact Austin at (859) 238-5475.

The volleyball camp will be June 23-27 for 10-18 year olds. The camp will be tailored from beginning players to more advanced players. Stephanie Dragan, head volleyball coach at Centre, can be reached at (859) 238-5475 for further details.

Centre offers nine intercollegiate sports for men and 10 for women, competing in the NCAA's Division III as a member of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference, a top league recognized for academic and athletic excellence.
