Senior profile: Lorenzo Engleman

RELEASED: Nov. 20, 2003

Name: Lorenzo Engleman

Hometown: Cincinnati

Major: History

Extracurricular activities: Diversity Student Union, where Engleman serves as the social and educational chairperson; varsity football (running back who led the team in rushing, receiving and scoring); and varsity track and field

What is your favorite class? "History 334 Vietnam taught by Professor Clarence Wyatt. Professor Wyatt is a great teacher. He does a good job of keeping our attention and interest in the subject."

What was your reaction to recently winning a share of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference football championship: "I see this as being just below when I graduate as my most joyous occasion here at Centre. For the seniors to go out with such a bang, we couldn't have asked for anything more (except a win at Trinity, but I would like to thank Rhodes College for giving us a second chance). It was my proudest moment thus far in being a Colonel."

What others say about Lorenzo: "It's been a joy to coach Lorenzo," said Drew Meyers, assistant football coach at Centre. "He's a very intelligent person and a hard-worker. We wouldn't be co-conference champions without Lorenzo Engleman."

Future plans:
"I think I'll be returning home to attend graduate school at the University of Cincinnati, but I'm still open to other ideas."

Quotable: "I've thoroughly enjoyed the people and having the chance to be involved in many activities. Since Day One I've felt very welcome and comfortable at Centre and have just come to love it."
