| Three faculty members honored at convo

DANVILLE, KYThree Centre College faculty members were recognized by students recently at a recent Honors Convocation on campus. The Honors Convocation is an annual event that honors the achievements of Centre students and faculty. Numerous student awards were presented.
Lori Hartmann-Mahmud, assistant professor of international studies, received the David F. Hughes Memorial Award. Centre's chapter of the national leadership organization Omicron Delta Kappa has presented the award annually since 1969. It's named for a beloved Centre government professor. Hartmann-Mahmud, a member of Centre's faculty since 1999, holds a bachelor's degree from Denison University and master's and doctoral degrees from the University of Denver.
The C. Eric Mount Jr. Award, established by Centre's Student Government Association, was presented to Pottinger Associate Professor of History Clarence Wyatt. The Mount Award "exemplifies outstanding dedication and leadership beyond the classroom." Wyatt, who has worked at Centre since 1979, holds a bachelor's degree from Centre and master's and doctoral degrees from the University of Kentucky.
ODK named Ruben Dupertuis, visiting instructor of religion, Rookie of the Year. Dupertuis, who joined Centre's faculty last fall, holds a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Michigan and a master's degree from Claremont School of Theology.
