The music scholarship recipients are: Miles Barger, Karen Biscopink, Katherine Goodenberger, Shelly Hines, Alina Klimkina, Elizabeth Leggett, Mary Morgan, Jon Neuman, John Trevathan and Wes Young. One of the recipients, Karen Biscopink remarks, "It's an amazing privilege to have received one of the music scholarships offered by Centre. Not only did this allow me to attend my number-one college choice, but this award has offered me the freedom to pursue my interest in violin studies, something I might not have been able to do in another setting." Alina Klimkina, a pianist who received a music scholarship, said, "Receiving the Centre Music Scholarship made me realize that someone else had great appreciation for something I've worked toward during the past 10 years of my lifebeing able to express myself through the sound of the piano. I feel blessed with the opportunity to further my studies in music at Centre." Made possible by gifts from alumni, the Centre Fine Arts Scholarship in music is a program to encourage students who demonstrate outstanding musical talent and promise to attend the College. These scholarships are awarded to students who show outstanding promise in music, regardless of intended major. At Centre, the students will be able to work with outstanding faculty, experience world-class artists at Centre's Norton Center for the Arts and be involved in numerous student ensembles.
