A Harry good book: Governor's Scholars praise latest Potter adventure
RELEASED: June 26, 2003
DANVILLE, KYThe fifth book in the Harry Potter series has fans and most critics raving. An estimated five million copies of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix were sold on Saturday, the first day the book was released. Sales records are being broken in the U.S. and abroad.
Several participants in the Governor's Scholars Program at Centre College are reading the book. Here are some of their thoughts.
"I was at the bookstore Friday night at 11 p.m. waiting for it to be released. I don't want to read it too fast because it's so good I don't want to finish it."
Laura Clements
"I didn't have time to buy it before coming to GSP. My family is going to bring it to me here. They better, or they'll be in big trouble."
Stephanie Esterle
"I just finished it. Some think it's childish, but it's entertaining. I like it, but it's not like I dress up like him."
Chris Elder
"Two big, huge thumbs up!"
Scott Stauble, GSP resident assistant
"I bought the whole set when I got the latest book. I'd heard they were really good. All my friends were talking about it."
Mary Chambers
"I got into the books last year after I saw the movie."
Susan Hall
"I picked it up at midnight. I like the third Harry Potter book the best, but this one is better than the others. A bunch of guys here are trying to borrow it from me."
Patrick Keal
