The authors of the book are Trent Anderson and Seppy Basili. They tout Centre’s arts department, study-abroad program, supportive environment for first-year students and the school's Norton Center for the Arts.

Anderson says, "Centre's academics, and its academic flexibility, make it the premier liberal arts institution in Kentucky."

The guide is based surveys of high school guidance counselors, current students, recent graduates and college officials. According to Kaplan, the book provides straightforward, unbiased information that helps prospective applicants make the most informed choice possible during the application process.
