The Boston Pops coming to Norton Center

DANVILLE, KY—The best known orchestra in the world, The Boston Pops, will appear at Centre College's Norton Center for the Arts in one performance set for Feb. 16 at 8 p.m.

Tickets are on sale at the Norton Center box office. Hours are 9 a.m.-4 p.m. weekdays. Patrons also may call (859) 236-4692 or toll-free at 1-877-HIT-SHOW.

Since performing their first concert on July 11, 1885, The Boston Pops have become synonymous with precision and elegance in orchestral music. The Pops incorporate a perfect blend of light classical music, a middle section featuring a classical or popular soloist, and a conclusion featuring Broadway show tunes, patriotic favorites and film music.

The Boston Pops have performed under gifted conductor Keith Lockhart since 1995.

The College's Norton Center for the Arts is an internationally acclaimed performing arts center which annually brings to Centre a series of important musical groups, Broadway shows, individual performances and other works from the performing arts.
