DANVILLE, KY-Campus recognition of the Iota chapter of Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity has been revoked for a period of four years by Centre College as announced Friday, June 6.
The Centre fraternity was on probationary status for the 2002-03 academic year and was suspended in March of 2003. The suspension was triggered by an unapproved off-campus pledging event.
The effect of the decision to withdraw recognition will be to close operation of the chapter at Centre, including closing the chapter house and all chapter activities. The blanket prohibition includes membership recruitment and new-member education initiation.
Re-colonization will not be an option until the 2007-08 academic year.
