DANVILLE, KY—The Centre College music program will present its annual Fall Musicians Showcase concert on Nov. 15 at 4 p.m. in the Audrey R. Gillespie Recital Hall on campus. The event is free, and the public is invited to attend.
The concert will feature 16 student musicians performing works by Chopin, Mozart, Scarlatti, Ravel, Bach, Hindemith, Strauss, Mendelssohn and others.
Student performers include: Jenny Anderson (flute), Davis Cherry (piano), Lisa Cloud (piano), Candace Davis (violin), Emery Denby (baritone), Matt Dillinger (trumpet), Vince Gerrish (trumpet), Jessica Ann Graff (soprano), Meghan Harter (soprano), Ashley Howell (piano), Matt Lane (violin), Kelli McGrath (flute), Leah Newton (flute), Noble Powell (piano), Elizabeth Tammen (soprano), and Karen Wicke (piano). Music faculty member Elizabeth Wolfe will accompany several of the pieces on piano.
Laurence Bitensky, assistant professor of music at Centre, comments, "The annual Musicians Showcase is a wonderful opportunity for students to share their wealth and variety of talents with the Centre and Danville communities. It's always one of the highlights of the year for the music program, and it's an event that we all eagerly look forward to."
