Stomp coming to Norton Center

RELEASED: Jan. 2, 2003

DANVILLE, KY—Stomp, the international percussion sensation, will appear at Centre College's Norton Center for the Arts in two performances set for Tuesday and Wednesday, Jan. 14-15 at 8 p.m.

Tickets are on sale at the Norton Center box office. Hours are 9 a.m.-4 p.m. weekdays. Patrons also may call (859) 236-4692 or toll-free at 1-877-HIT-SHOW.

Stomp, an overwhelming success marked by rave reviews, numerous awards and sell-out engagements, is the winner of an Olivier Award for Best Choreography. From its beginnings as a street performance in England, Stomp has grown into an international phenomenon during the past nine years.

Stomp makes rhythm "out of anything we can get our hands on that makes a sound," says director Luke Cresswell.

The College's Norton Center for the Arts is a regional performing arts center, which annually brings to Centre College a series of important musical groups, Broadway shows, individual performances and other works from the performing arts. A complete series schedule and the subscription information are available upon request.
