Centre shooting for No. 1 in annual alumni giving
RELEASED: June 26, 2003
DANVILLE, KYAs the 2002-03 Annual Giving Campaign comes to a conclusion at Centre College, the school is making a final push to ensure that alumni participation is high enough to achieve the annual No. 1 ranking in the country. This is the campaign's final week.
For 15 of the past 18 years Centre has led the nation in the percentage of alumni who give to their alma mater. Last year Centre was barely edged out for the top spot by Amherst.
"All of us in the Centre community, particularly our alumni, have taken a great deal of pride over the years in being No. 1 in the percentage of alumni giving to the college," said Jamey Elliott, director of annual giving and associate director of alumni. "We hope that those who haven't yet made a gift will consider doing so. Every gift counts and makes a difference at the college. And it's always nice to be No. 1."
