Volleyball position: Outside hitter

You injured your anterior cruciate ligament last year. How are you doing heading into your final season? “My knee is doing fine but has the obvious aches and pains. It’s nothing that will hold me back.”

How do you think the volleyball team will fare this season? “The team’s looking great. All the starters are returning and we have a talented group of freshmen. We’re going to have a great season. Look for us to do big things.”

Future plans: “I plan on attending the University of Louisville to get my master’s degree in education and one day attending dental school.”

What others say about Danielle: “Danielle was an officer for the DSU last year, and she has great leadership potential,” says J.H. Atkins, assistant vice president and associate professor of education at Centre. “She has a lot of enthusiasm and has the ability to be an extremely successful elementary educator.”

“Danielle has been one of the reasons that our program has remained successful,” says Stephanie Dragan, Centre volleyball coach. “Danielle works hard all year round and strives to be the best student-athlete that she can be. Danielle has been a delight to work with. I’ve enjoyed watching her develop into a strong, confident woman. I’ll be sad to lose her to graduation, but am pleased to know that a great woman will be entering the work force.”

Quotable: “I’ve loved my experience at Centre. The time I’ve spent here has helped me grow and develop into the person I am today. I’ve had so many wonderful experiences and had the chance to learn and work with some amazing people. I wouldn’t trade these four years of my life for anything in the world.”
