Career Services adds new member

RELEASED: Feb. 26, 2004

DANVILLE, KY—Melinda Wilson has joined the Career Services staff at Centre College as internship and outreach coordinator.

Wilson will identify and work with organizations and Centre alumni to create internship and full-time job opportunities for Centre students.

Her duties will include supervising students in internships, coordinating with faculty sponsors and organizing internship workshops and presentations.

Wilson is a native of Apple Valley, Calif. She received her bachelor's degree in literature and Spanish from Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego, Calif., and a master's in comparative literature from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, N.C.

While at UNC, Wilson taught freshmen composition as a teaching fellow. Last summer, she worked with Duke University's Talent Identification Program as an onsite coordinator at Davidson College in Davidson, N.C. Wilson has also worked with social services and foster care youth in San Diego.

"With Mindy's background in social service and working with the employers of teenagers, she's a great addition to our staff," says Deborah Jones, director of Career Services at Centre.
