My CENTRE Life: The saga continues

RELEASED: Oct. 6, 2005

DANVILLE, KY—The second journal entries for "My CENTRE Life: The Freshman Year" go up today.

In them, six Centre freshmen—Erica, Adam, Caitlin, Clayton, Erin and Taylor—write about adjusting to life away from home, parents and friends, and of getting used to introductions, managing their own time, classes and doing their own laundry.

A few details:

  • One of the Centre Six has already fallen "totally in love!"
  • Another has reached agreement with a roommate, that "the Dirt Devil vacuum cleaner was a brilliant invention the modern world couldn't do without."
  • One has already gone head to head with President Roush in a tense game of blackjack.
  • Another writes that she "just wants to find [her] place here, whether it is in the lab, in the swimming pool, on the stage or just swinging on the lawn."
  • One has discovered that she and her roommate are so compatible they have matching bed sheets. She also discovers her northern accent carries some entertainment value in her dorm.
  • Another lists the necessities of good dorm-living: LazyBoy, posters, carpeting and forks. "So now," he writes, "our room is pretty much complete."

There will be more than a dozen new pictures for each student.

Will the true love last? Who walked away the winner from the blackjack table? Will dorm life ever be the same after forks and the Dirt Devil?
