Brass and trumpet ensembles sound off

DANVILLE, KY—The Centre College Music Program will present a free concert featuring the CentreBrass and CentreTrumpets ensembles on Dec. 6 at 7:30 p.m. in the Audrey Gillespie Recital Hall.

The two groups will be directed by Vince DiMartino, W. George Matton Professor of Music at Centre.

The ensembles will perform a broad variety of works ranging from 1500s to the 21st century. Concert highlights include an original composition for brass ensemble by student composer Rowland Hill and an arrangement of Carol of the Bells by Centre junior Wes Young.

Centre's Music Program offers a wide variety of performance and academic opportunities for students. Any student may take private lessons, participate in ensembles, and take courses ranging from music theory and history to world music and jazz history.
