| Fall athletes return to campus

The remaining fall athletes will return on Aug. 21. Coaches expect 28 cross-country runners, 25 women's soccer players, 31 men's soccer players, 22 field hockey players, and volleyball expects 10. You can catch Centre's fall sports teams in action at home in September: men's soccerSept. 6 (Georgetown, 6 p.m.); field hockeySept. 3 (Oberlin, 2 p.m.); cross countrySept. 10 (Centre Invitational); footballSept. 3 (Bluffton University, 1:30 p.m.); volleyballSept. 17 (Bridgewater State, noon); and women's soccerSept. 3 (Hiram, 7:30 p.m.). Centre offers 19 intercollegiate sports, nine for men and 10 for women. The College competes in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference whose other members include Rhodes, Sewanee, Southwestern and Trinity, and DePauw.
