| Annual Giving Comes to Close and Comes Down to the Wire
RELEASED: Aug. 4, 2005
Though Centre was edged at the wire in the race for No. 1, the 2004-05 annual giving year was a tremendous success. The Triple Crown Challenge, announced on Feb. 1, had a great impact. As a result of the challenge, 399 alumni made more than one gift to the College this year (July 1, 2004June 30, 2005) and 1,135 alumni increased the level of their giving. Similarly, the College ended the year with a record 994 members of the Centre Associates (those who give $1,000 or more) and 2,908 members of the Colonels Club (those who give $100 or more). "It's been a great year," says Jamey Elliott '96, director of annual giving. "We certainly want to say thank you again to the 5,507 alumni who made a gift this year as well as to our anonymous alumnus who issued the Triple Crown Challenge. We're grateful for our loyal and generous alumni, and we'll obviously do everything we can next year to get back to No. 1." While the 2004-05 annual giving campaign has come to a close, the 2005-06 campaign started on July 1. To make a gift to the College, visit the online giving site
