Summer 2005 Centre Internship Plus Recipients

DANVILLE, KYThe Centre College Internship Plus committee recently met and awarded 12 students Centre Internship Plus funding for their summer internships. In this extremely competitive process, these students were chosen to receive up to $1,500 each for their extraordinary internships across the country and around the world.
"The Internship Plus program, which provides matching grants for selected internships, is a great way to help Centre students afford some top-notch internships they might not otherwise be able to complete," says Deborah Jones, director of career services. "The Internship Plus proposals just get better and better. This year's crop of winners all have wonderful internships and put together top-notch proposals."

- Robert Knox, junior, Richmond, Va., (Naval Historical Center in Washington, DC)
- Heidi Lampela, junior, Colliersville, Tenn., (Gardens Veterinary Clinic in New Zealand)
- Matt Lane, junior, Louisville, (Mark Edwards Violins)
- Sarah McKain, junior, Abingdon, Va., (Adoptions of Kentucky)
- Lisa Mudd, junior, Louisville, (University of Louisville, Birth Defect Center)
- Andy Reynolds, sophomore, Columbus, Ind., (Hagyard Equine Veterinary Institute)
- Tony Stefater, junior, Louisville, (Johns Hopkins University, Endocrine Surgery Lab)
- Chip Thomas, junior, Lexington, Ky., (U.S. Department of State in Juarez, Mexico)
