Rachel Foster named Centre Communications Fellow

DANVILLE, KY—Rachel Foster '05 has joined the Centre College Communications Office as a communications fellow.

In this position Foster will assist with research and writing for web stories and other publications, media inquiries, special projects and event management.

Foster, a native of Scottsville, Ky., graduated this past spring with a degree in history. She received the 2004-5 Pottinger Fellowship in History, awarded annually to an outstanding rising senior history major.

Foster spent the fall 2003 semester with the Centre-in-Strasbourg program.

She has held several previous on-campus jobs at Centre, including a summer 2004 position in the Admission office, and was a host with the Centre Colonel Corps (a group of student volunteers who assist the Admission office by conducting campus tours and hosting lunches and overnight stays for prospective students), all four years while she was at Centre.

As a member of the Delta Delta Delta sorority, she was social events chairman for 2004-5 and Panhellenic representative for 2002-3.

Mike Norris, director of communications at Centre, said of Foster's appointment, "Rachel is a welcome addition to our staff. In the short time she has been with us, she has shown herself to be a quick study and is already making valuable contributions to our efforts."

Foster is the daughter of Franklin Foster'73 and Gaye Foster of Scottsville.
