Outstanding Centre faculty and staff recognized

DANVILLE, KY—Centre College staff and faculty were in the spotlight at the College's annual awards dinner, held Wednesday, May 18 in the Cowan Dining Commons.

Jeff Bryant, Angie Hagan and Gail Lawson received the Horky Service Award. Created from a bequest from Lorette and John Horky '32, the Horky Award recognizes outstanding achievement by facilities services employees and has been given annually since 1990.

Recipients of the Recognition Award, which honors non-physical plant staff, were Vickie Glidewell, Scott Messer, Diane Pasick and Donna Phillips.

Strength and conditioning coach Rick Fox, who was instrumental in the creation of the Buck Fitness enter located in the new Sutcliffe Hall, received the 2004-5 Presidential Award, which was created in 1999 to recognize exceptional leadership and accomplishment.

The Kirk Award for excellence in teaching, endowed by a 1995 gift from Mike and Joanne Kirk Duncan '71, has been awarded annually since1996. The winners for 2005 were Phyllis Bellver, David Hall, Phil Lockett, Bob Martin, Jan Wertz and Ian Wilson.
