Singing songs of spring

RELEASED: April 14, 2005

DANVILLE, KY—Several signs announce the arrival of spring on the Centre College campus—birds start chirping, flowers begin to bud and Centre women dance in their bath towels in front of Old Centre as part of Spring Sing.

This week Centre students celebrated the arrival of warmer weather with their Spring Sing concert, held annually on the steps of Old Centre. Spring Sing is associated with Carnival Weekend, a Centre tradition that dates to 1903. Student organizations competed with each other in front of a panel of faculty judges. Performances included everything from choreographed dance routines to a cappella renditions.

Organizations walking away with top awards in this year's competition were the Phi Kappa Tau fraternity and the Delta Delta Delta sorority.

Here are a few photographs from the event.
