Tim Ungs joins Centre communications staff

DANVILLE, KY—Tim Ungs has joined the Centre College Communications Office as media associate.

In this position Ungs will write and edit news stories, serve as liaison between the media and the Centre faculty and staff, and assist in marketing activities.

Since May 2004, Ungs has served as development director for Pioneer Playhouse in Danville. A native of Minneapolis, he recently moved to the Danville area after 15 years in New York City. He worked for five years in online development for AOL Time Warner—first at Time Inc. New Media, then at Money.com, and finally as senior technical producer at CNN/money.com. Before that, he had another five-year career in book publishing at HarperCollins Publishers, where he rose to become a one-man copywriting department for the adult trade marketing department.

Ungs holds an M.A. in English from the University of Minnesota and a B.A. in English from the University of Notre Dame. He is the author of four biographies for young adults: Shaquille O'Neal, Superstars of Men's Soccer, Muhammad Ali and Laila Ali and Paul McCartney and Stella McCartney.

Ungs is married to children's writer Heather Henson, author of Making the Run and the forthcoming picture book Angel Coming. They have a 4-year-old son, Daniel, and infant twins, Lila and Theo. They live on a farm between Danville and Harrodsburg.
