Centre gives it up for United Way

RELEASED: Jan. 27, 2005

DANVILLE, KY—Centre College contributed $25,855 to the United Way in 2004, a 7 percent increase in donations from the 2003 campaign.

Faculty, staff, and students could make contributions in a variety of ways, including a Centre Favors Auction. Items on the auction block ranged from useful to quirky: gift certificates, dinner with Centre's President John Roush, reserved parking spaces, two loads of laundry washed and ironed—just to mention a few.

The Heart of Kentucky United Way's Janie Pass says, "Centre always does a great job, and we so appreciate your leadership and support."

The local United Way supports 24 valuable agencies including Big Brothers Big Sisters, the Salvation Army, Habitat for Humanity, and Heritage Hospice. The goal of the United Way is to improve the quality life for everyone in the community.
