1. Position/title: Associate Professor of Dramatic Arts, currently program chair
 

2. Hometown: Fairport, NY (Suburb of Rochester--little town on the Erie Canal)

3. Career highlight: (Hopefully yet to come) Thus far, being selected to work with artist/teacher Ming Cho Lee at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC.

4. Signature class: "Scenic Design"

5. Recent publication/exhibition/performance: Scenic design for Vincent in Brixton at the Actors Guild of Lexington. Also designed lighting for the recent DramaCentre production of Henceforward .

6. Family details: Wife, Jane Dewey; Children, Dylan (12) and Gus (5)

7. Hobbies: Gardening (poorly), working on the family house, motorcycling

8. Pets: German Shepherd, Lady (13 yrs. young); two cats, Shadow and Tigger.

9. Prized possession: 19th century copy of Cyrano deBergerac by Edmund Rostand

10. Last book read: Shadow of the Giant by Orson Scott Card

11. Memorable trip/vacation: Greece, particularly the theatre at Epidavros

12. Favorite movie: Bull Durham and Casablanca (tie)

13. Favorite album: Currently, Born to Run (Springsteen) remastered, Soundtrack to The Last Five Years

14. Favorite food: Any nicely grilled fresh fish

15. Favorite smell: Jasmine (fresh on the vine), "Old Shoe" pipe tobacco

16. Person you most admire: My father

17. Living figure you'd most like to meet: An actor named Raül Esparza. My wife and I saw him in a production of The Normal Heart by Larry Kramer at the Public Theatre in NYC in the summer of 2004 and he was so moving; he gave such a death-defying performance that I was overcome. I was so undone with tears that I was afraid I would have to be carried from the theatre. It was a beautiful, terrible catharsis. I would like to thank him for that.

18. Historical figure you'd most like to meet: Either Frank Lloyd Wright (though from a distance--he was a notorious curmudgeon) or Adolphe Appia (Wagnerian scenic and lighting designer)

19. What would you be doing if you weren't teaching at Centre: Working as a free-lance designer (plays/store windows/museum exhibitions, whatever)

20. Describe yourself in three words: Passionate, caring, flawed
