The College Centre receives award in national architectural design competition
RELEASED: Dec. 14, 2006
DANVILLE, KY— The College Centre—a state-of-the-art complex in which students enhance their intellectual, social, spiritual and physical development—has recently been honored for education design excellence by American School & University magazine.
The College Centre was awarded a Citation from among nearly 230 projects from across the United States and is profiled in the November issue of the magazine and also on the Web at www.SchoolDesigns.com. Featured projects showcase the most effective learning environments in America. The jury awarded 20 Citations, recognizing the most outstanding designs.
The grand opening of The College Centre took place in the spring of 2005, with a dedication ceremony taking place during Homecoming 2005 festivities. The multi-million-dollar project expanded, renovated and unified the main academic facility, Crounse Hall, and the athletic/recreation facility, Sutcliffe Hall.
Winning entries were selected by a jury of architects from the American Institute of Architects and school administrators, who evaluated submissions of K-12 and college/university projects from architectural firms and schools across the country.
