Centre guarantees timely graduation, study abroad and
internship opportunities for its students

RELEASED: Dec. 21, 2006

DANVILLE, KY—Centre College makes students a promise: if they meet their normal academic and social obligations, they will graduate in four years, will get a chance to study abroad, and will be able to take part in an internship.

If this promise isn't fulfilled, Centre will pay for up to another year of tuition.

This pledge, called "The Centre Commitment," reinforces the College's goal of providing students a personal education that fits their abilities and interests.

"A vast majority of our students graduate in four years," says Carey Thompson, vice president for enrollment and student planning services. "They arrive in the work force or in graduate programs in a more timely manner than students at other Kentucky institutions."

Centre makes the opportunity to participate in an internship program widely accessible, and 86 percent of the College's students study abroad, making it one of the top 10 international studies programs in the country.
