DANVILLE, KY—The votes have been counted—more than 400 of them, in fact. The people have spoken: the coolest room on the Centre College campus belongs to (drum roll, please) … junior Jeremy Ware of Corbin, Ky.
Ware, in his second year winning the contest, has turned his Bingham Hall room into a tropical paradise. Complete with astroturf carpet, bamboo walls, a jib sail on the ceiling, grass skirting accenting the furniture, and a variety of personal tropical accents, his home away from home combines self-expression and functionality.
Ware will receive a $100 Target gift card.
The runners-up, Dary Picken and Trey Janes, Kate Clemons and Kate Smiley, Danielle Dodson and Lauren Fredericksen, and Erin Menard and Casey Yeakel, will receive gift certificates.
Centre's Communications Office photographed and judged a wide variety rooms for the contest on the basis of color, creativity, decorations, theme and overall look. The contest committee selected the five finalists, and online voters determined the winner.
