Texas country legend Pat Green to perform at Centre

DANVILLE, KY—Country music star Pat Green will appear in concert at Centre College on Saturday, April 29 at 8 p.m. in Newlin Hall. Green, a three-time Grammy nominated performer, will perform as a part of the College's annual Carnival celebration.
Famous for such songs as "Lucky Ones," "Wave on Wave," and "Baby Doll," Pat Green recently toured with 2006 Country Music Association Entertainer of the Year Keith Urban.
In his home state of Texas, Green fills arenas and has the status of a musical legend, where he has twice played to a sold-out Astrodome audience.
Inspired by fellow Lone Star State performers such as Robert Earl Keen, Waylon Jennings, Jerry Jeff Walker and Willie Nelson, Green's edgy, scuffed-up voice suggests long nights, worn memories and deep passions.
"Pat Green spent most of his early career releasing independent albums around Texas, so his music was one of the many new experiences introduced to me at Centre when I first stepped foot inside the Phi Delta Theta house," says Ryan Rich, a senior from Calvert City, Ky. "Now, I listen to his music incessantly not only because of the consistent quality of his songs, but, more importantly, because they will forever remind me of the last four years of sitting on the back porch of the Phi Delt house at night with all my friends gathered around. To have Pat Green perform here will be an honor as well as yet another memory I will carry away from Centre College when I graduate in May."
