Concert showcases student musical talent

DANVILLE, KY—The Centre College Music Program will present its annual Fall Musicians Showcase concert on Oct. 31 at 6 p.m. in the Audrey R. Gillespie Recital Hall on campus. The event is free and open to the public.

The concert will feature 14 student musicians performing works by Puccini, Handel, Mozart, Schubert and others. 

Student performers include: Shannon Bailey (soprano), Dan Burkey (baritone), Leah Campbell (flute), Clayton Carden (violin), John Greuenwald (violin), Adriane Hall (mezzo-soprano), Jennifer Jacoby (soprano), Molly Jernigan (violin), Matt Lewis (baritone), Catherine Naiser (soprano), Jamie Price (horn), Amy Raghuraman (flute), Lily Thompson (clarinet) and Wes Young (trumpet). Elizabeth Wolfe, professor of piano, will accompany several of the pieces.

"The Fall Musicians Showcase is a wonderful opportunity for students to share their wealth and variety of talents with the Centre and Danville communities," says Laurence Bitensky, Centre associate professor of music. "It's always one of the highlights of the year for the music program, and it's an event that we all eagerly look forward to."
