DANVILLE, KY—The winner of Centre College's Coolest Picture of Summer contest is … drum roll please … Al Griffin, a sophomore from Gainesville, Fla.
There were a number of excellent submissions, but the winner, in a unanimous vote among the Communications Office staff, was the shot of Griffin standing on water in Superior National Forest's Boundary Waters between Canada and America.
Griffin spent the summer working as a guide for an outfitter in the Boundary Waters. "I learned much while up there," says Griffin, "including how to 'walk on water.'"
Griffin will receive a $50 gift certificate to the Centre Bookstore, now located in the Hub-Frankel building in downtown Danville. Top selections from the Coolest Photo of the Summer contest will be shown as photos of the week (some already have been). All submitted pictures will be in the running for a free digital camera in the Photo of the Year contest.
