A search for the "Coolest Picture of the Summer"

RELEASED: June15, 2006

The Cool Picture of the Summer for 2005: Adam Allen '06 holds his bicycle aloft in the desert with the least rainfall in the world, San Pedro de Atacama, Chile.

DANVILLE, KY—How do Centre College students spend the summer? Some conduct research at the nation's top universities, including Harvard, Stanford and Johns Hopkins. Others head off to internships in locations ranging from China to Mexico, New Zealand to New York City. Some take on community service gigs. And of course others take advantage of summer vacation for pleasure travel.

With all that activity, the Communications Office wants to see the pictures.

Centre students are invited to submit their photos for the "Coolest Picture of the Summer" contest. The contestant who captures the true essence of summer will receive a $50 bookstore gift certificate, sure to come in handy when it's time to purchase those English and chemistry books. New incoming and transfer students are encouraged to submit photos as well.

We're looking for ingenious, creative and resourceful pictures. Play with the monkeys during your internship, jam with your favorite band in concert, hike in the great outdoors and discover the nation's landmarks. Or do some more creative than our suggestions. Use your imaginations. Have fun. Don't get arrested!

Send your digital pictures via e-mail or campus mail to Rachel Foster at rachel.foster@centre.edu . Be sure to identify everyone in the picture and include a brief description of what's happening. The higher the resolution the better. Make sure your pictures are at least 300 dpi.

Top selections will be shown as photos of the week and all pictures will be entered in the photo of the year contest for a free digital camera later in the year. Happy clicking!
