It's Carnival time again at Centre!

RELEASED: April 12, 2007

DANVILLE, KY—Last Friday evening, the front lawn of Old Centre looked less like a stately park and more like a street fair during Centre's annual Carnival festival.

A longstanding tradition at Centre, Carnival was established in 1903. This year, as in years past, the lawn was filled with an assortment of fun activities for the entire Centre community. From inflatable games to student-organized activity booths to free food, music and prizes, the event was fun for both the young and young at heart.

The College community ended the night with a performance by the Pat McGee Band in front of the Warehouse. Check out the band at their website: http://www.patmcgeeband.com/.

"Carnival is great way to relax and have some fun," says Erin Menard, a sophomore from LaGrange, Ky. "Everybody's really stressed this time of the year."

The festival is sponsored by the Student Activities Council (SAC).

"SAC has been working hard all year to plan and prepare an amazing Carnival," says Jeanne Macksoud, a junior from Basking Ridge, N.J., and a member of SAC. "We're bringing in six amazing and different inflatables, including human spheres, and the Pat McGee Band is going to give a great live concert. We can’t wait to see the entire Centre campus outside enjoying Carnival!"
