RELEASED: April 19, 2007

DANVILLE, KY—The Centre College admission office hosted its annual "Centre of Attention Day" for all admitted students and their families on Saturday.

Along with campus tours, visits to the college bookstore, and a complimentary lunch, the day consisted of seminars for both students and parents.

This year's academic seminars for students included: "Vietnam: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow"; "Why is Organic Chemistry So Hard!"; "¿Qué sabes? / Que sais-tu?"; "Monetary Policy of the 70’s and 80’s—and its Impact Today"; "Will I Still Be Me: How a Self Survives"; and "The Intelligent Guide to Mate Selection."

Later, students engaged in social seminars with Centre students consisting of candid conversations about living the "Centre Experience."

"Centre of Attention Day gives these students a great opportunity to preview campus life and imagine themselves here as freshmen next fall,"says Carey Thompson, vice president for enrollment and student planning services. "These students will come from the largest applicant pool in the College's history and should be another outstanding class for the College."
